I have at last found a form of exercise that I enjoy. And it’s its creativity that I find so appealing.
It’s called Nia and it’s a holistic form of dance that combines yoga, jazz dance, and martial arts. The beauty of it is that, although there are set dances and routines, it’s the creative combination of all three principles that brings such pleasure. It moves along at a pace that’s suitable for all and everyone puts in as much or as little as they feel they need.
And that’s the key. A form of creative exercise that adapts to the body rather than the other way round.
